A playset relocation is one project across two sites. The current structure has to be documented, disassembled in a reusable way, transported within the agreed scope and reassembled only if the destination site is suitable.
Document the Existing Playset
- Model/configuration if known.
- Photos of towers/beams.
- Accessory locations.
- Current damaged/rotted parts.
- Hardware condition.
- Anchoring method.
- Origin access.
- Destination access/site.
Preparing Playset Components for Transport and Reassembly
Hardware and brackets should be grouped by section. Components should not be cut or discarded if the playset is expected to be rebuilt. Transportation should be explicitly included or excluded. Long beams and slides can affect vehicle requirements.
New-Site Readiness
- Footprint fits.
- Site surface suitable.
- Activity clearances practical.
- Anchoring can be restored as required.
- Missing/damaged parts resolved.
- No grading/foundation work assumed.
- Access for components available.
Repair Problems Found During the Move
Relocation often exposes deterioration. Repair or replacement parts should be handled before reassembly rather than hidden inside the move.
Playset Relocation Questions
Does relocation guarantee the old playset is reusable?
No.
Is site grading included?
Not automatically.
Reassembly should use the manufacturer's original configuration where it remains available. Moving the structure is not an opportunity to redesign load-bearing connections or create a custom layout from old components.
- Destination site suitable.
- Main components reusable.
- Hardware complete/compatible.
- Original configuration documented.
- Anchoring restored as product requires.
- Activity clearance available.
- Damaged pieces replaced before use.
- Custom redesign not assumed.
If the original manufacturer instructions are still available, keeping them with the moved components can simplify reassembly and help identify replacement hardware. If not, careful labeling becomes more important.
The old anchor locations should not be assumed reusable at the new site. Reassembly should follow the product requirements and the actual destination surface.
Slides, roof panels and other bulky accessories should be protected during transport so relocation does not create damage that was not present at the origin.
If the destination uses a different ground surface, final leveling and anchoring should be treated as a new-site condition rather than copied from the original yard.
Use the site chat with the playset type, origin/destination conditions and whether transportation is included.
