Assembly & Installation

Shuffleboard Table Assembly in Champaign, IL

On this page

Shuffleboard tables are long, heavy game-room pieces. The final room and access path matter before assembly because cabinet or playing-surface sections can be difficult to maneuver after supports are attached.

Measure the Room Before Assembly

  • Finished table length.
  • Longest packaged section.
  • Doorway and stair clearances.
  • Space around both ends of the table.
  • Final floor condition.

Supporting, Aligning and Leveling the Playfield

The frame or cradle should be stable and square before the playing surface is treated as final. Some tables use one long surface; others use separate components. The manufacturer configuration determines how the playfield is seated. Leveling is central because the puck should not be affected by obvious table slope. Because a shuffleboard table can be much longer than ordinary furniture, a minor twist in the support structure may be more noticeable at the far end of the playing surface. The base and cradle should be stabilized before fine leveling begins.

The finished table also needs walking and playing clearance along its length. It can technically fit between two walls and still be impractical if players cannot stand comfortably at each end.

  • Support frame is square.
  • Playing surface is seated correctly.
  • Final leveling is done in permanent location.
  • Scoring/accessory parts are installed.
  • Player clearance exists at both ends.
  • No surface repair/refinishing is being mistaken for assembly.

If the table has a separate electronic scoring unit, its power lead and mounting position should be planned before the table is pushed into its final location. A scoring unit that is technically installed but inaccessible is not a useful finish. If the table uses climatic adjusters or other model-specific underside hardware, those parts should be treated according to the product instructions rather than adjusted by guesswork during basic assembly.
